konnichiwa,
I'm glad so many new people have joined. Since this group is relatively young,
please
take a look at the backlog of messages by visiting
http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/
group/japan_kfss/messages and then dive in. I'm sure you'll have lots to offer.
Even though this group appears to have gone dormant, a lot of the early
subscribers
still receive it in email, so a little nudge from any one of us can wake it up
again.
I just lucked into a pile of video cassettes from Japan, a variety of things,
including
dorama, news, concerts, documentaries, chat shows, etc. One of the dorama was
called "Reiko no Ashi." I tried to find it on the web, no luck. Any of you know
anything
about it? I think it's from the 1990's, action set in early Showa up to the
Manchuria
invasion. It's about a young school teacher who lives with her widowed mother
and
two younger sisters and has an ambivalent relationship with her mother's young
male
cousin. No subtitles and on VHS, so I can't slow it down enough to read the
credits.
I'm pretty slow with kanji. I didn't recognize any of the actors. It was
feature-length,
but it looked like it was shot on video, probably direct to vid or made for TV.
Let's hear from you.
(yes, let's!)
