As a huge fan of Japanese culture, I joined this group a few weeks ago, not
realizing that it had become inactive for several months after getting off to a
great start. I asked the list owner, Tim Stubbs, if the group was still active,
and
he said it should be. I told him that I enjoyed the messages I had read and
was a little disappointed at the inactivity and asked him if he would let me try
to promote it. So he agreed to make me a co-moderator.

I hope you will all come back and make this a wonderful group, again. Please
let your Japanophile friends know about our group.

As a co-moderator, I will largely stay in the background, and take my cues
from Tim as to what degree of moderation the group requires. My focus will be
to try to increase the membership by promoting the group to other
Japanophiles.
