Hi, on the theory that everybody knows someone who knows someone, I
thought I'd ask your assistance in pointing me to people and other
resources of info about a career writing English subtitles for
Japanese movies. I may as well put one of my addictions to work. I'm a
writer, and sometimes I find the English subtitles annoyingly bad on
foreign films, or at least a little distracting. OTOH, I admire
skillfully written ones. The best ones leave me thinking I heard the
film in English with the original actors' voices speaking the dialog.
I wonder if the Japanese subtitles on English language films are just
as bad.

IAC, I would like to work in that part of the industry and would like
to talk to anybody who knows anything about it.
