Hi, Chip, I'm the last person in the world who would know that, but I
hope other people on the Japan_KFSS list would be able to answer your
question.
I've fallen in love with a weird little online Manga that's mostly in
English, called "Mega Tokyo." But I don't know how mainstream or
popular it is. It's kind of like "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the
Galaxy" for Americans in Japan, for dealing with being stranded in a
place that bends your mind in ways it's not suppposed to bend.
I'm also getting into a collection of Buddhist manga in Japanese,
written for Middle School and High School age readers. But I know my
tastes are completely out of the mainstream on this. The author of
this series is Hiro Sachiya.
Also, I have a pretty complete collection of Mangajin issues, and it's
making a comeback online at www.mangajin.com This is a good resource
for all kinds of Japanese manga aimed at a variety of audiences. It's
a combination of Japanese language learning resource, and Reader's
Digest of Japanese manga.
good luck! Minasan mo, douzo onrain no tomodachi no Chip-san wo
tasukete, onegaishimasu.
Everybody, please give Chip a hand with this.
