Care to elaborate? What did you like about it? Who do you think the target
audience is? Did you see it in a movie theater, on TV, on a computer screen?
Lately, I've become aware of how much better some movies are when seen on a
bigger screen. Part of it is seeing things written in Japanese on the screen at
a bigger magnification, so I can read them more easily. Another part is in the
long shots in some movies, it's hard to read people's facial expressions on a
small screen. Case in point, "Warm Water Under a Red Bridge" (definitely NOT a
kids' movie), by Imamura Shohei, has a long shot of an impromptu drunken picnic
on a river bank between Yakusho Koji's and Shimizu Misa's characters. A lot of
the scene is a long shot, and it's really hard to read their faces on a TV, but
they show up well on a large screen. I don't know how important this is in
viewing anime.
Anyone care to comment?
