Hi, Augusto, welcome to the group.
I did some searching around the literal translation of the word "road" into
Japanese. I don't read the language that well, so I'm not sure if this is the
one you are looking for, and it's really hard to get specific info on this
particular film, but what I found was a film called "Waga Michi" by K. Shindo
that came out in the mid-1970's. Be careful with this one, because "Waga
Michi..." is also the beginning of the translation of the title of the old Bing
Crosby film "Going My Way?"
There are other key words one could search on that aren't quite as literal. One
that came up was "Tabi," meaning journey (not the tabi that means socks). But
the film I found with Tabi in the title, seemed to be a jidaigeki (historical
drama), not the modern story you described.
I'd be interested to know if there is anything comparable to IMDB (or more
authoritative) for looking up Japanese movies. There seem to be a lot of
fragmentary compilations (jdorama is great for TV, but zip on movies), but
nothing as ambitious or as organized as IMDB. It would be nice (for me anyway)
if it were available in English, Spanish, Portuguese or French, but I'm okay
with wrestling with the Japanese text, especially if there are people on this
list who can really read it and help us, as a group, learn to use the resource
effectively.
hope this helps.
