Waro Kishi's work features rich spatial and sectional variations which are
studied and admired around the world. His crisp, elegant Modern buildings,
although tiny, offer a sense of great openness and light. He often incorporates
traditional Japanese materials into his compositions. In his work he struggles
to reconcile tradition with the present, and he makes an effort to be
responsible to heritage, but aware of the new materials and economic forces
that have led to change.
