I received DVDs of the first two seasons of "Northern Exposure" as a
Christmas present, and I've played the first two episodes. I was
reminded again how special that show was. Of course, Janine was about
as beautiful as anyone can get.
I highly recommend these DVDs.
Check out this excellent review of Janine's book, Holding Her Head
High: 12 Single Mothers Who Championed Their Children and Changed
History!
Don't forget to buy the book for a wonderful Mother's Day gift for all
the mothers you know! The best way to impact the sales of Janine's book
is to buy directly from a book store if you are buying more than one
copy. Multiple copies purchased on the internet only count as one sale,
for best seller list purposes!

Janine Turner, Holding Her Head High: 12 Single Mothers Who Championed
Their Children and Changed History
Actress Janine Turner talks about the contributions that single mothers
have made to our society. This talk was co-hosted by the Clare Boothe
Luce Policy Institute and the Heritage Foundation.
(Sunday March 30 11 AM and 7 PM, Monday March 31 6:15 AM ET)
Janine is entering the crucial week of her book sales this morning -
the second week since the book has been released. It is selling well
on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com. She has been doing fantastic
television and radio interviews to promote it!
Please help make this book a best seller! Stop in your local book
store and make sure they are selling it and that it is prominently
displayed - if not, ask them to order it.
If you can buy one off Amazon or Barnes and Noble.com, PLEASE DO! Ask
your friends to buy one, too! If you want to buy more than one, buy
from a bookstore, because for best seller list purposes, 2 books
ordered in one shipment from the .com's only count as a purchase of one
book!! Multiple books purchased from a store actually count 1 for 1!!
And, if you have read the book and are so inclined, please post a
review on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.com
Let's show Janine our support this week!

Just noticed: Janine going to make an appearance on Law & Order
Tuesday night (1/22/08). All I know is what I saw on the previews.
Getting Philosophical: I've come to the conclusion that the JT I fell
in love with was the character Maggie O'Connel. I'm gratefull to
Janine for bringing her into an existance of a sort, but Jannine isn't
Maggie. It's a tribute to the talent of actresses & actors to make us
love these characters, but as fans, we need to BIM the differences. I
remember when congress had George C. Scott testifying as some kind of
authority from Gen. George S. Patten. For gawds sake he was an actor!
They had the entire War College just down the street and they thought
he would know something about the military!
Still enjoy whatever I see of Janine, and still look for wisps of the
goddess Maggie.

Hi, Rae.
I don't think it was, due to the way the first post by this user was
worded. I'm embarrassed to have to say that y'all never got to see the
first post, because it sat in the pending folder too long and expired.
My sincere apologies for that. As I've mentioned before, I had to
start moderating the forum due to spammers. It was just getting really
bad.

I just discovered a mention of Janine Turner in an article in the
Snohomish County Business Journal of Snohomish County, Washington.
Although Janine is not the focus of the article, it's an interesting one
noetheless.
The article begins like this:
"Actress Janine Turner became the spokesperson for General Motors
automobiles in the mid-1990s — as she was winding down her role as
Maggie O'Connell in the television series `Northern
Exposure.' She was an excellent choice for the job, for she
possessed a key quality for success in that line of work: likability.
Women liked her, and men liked her very much.
"Her work for General Motors included appearing in television
commercials for their different vehicles, including the Geo Prism."

Janine rocks! Let's hope she'll eventually get back into a TV series--
maybe this time on one of the major networks!
