I just discovered a mention of Janine Turner in an article in the
Snohomish County Business Journal of Snohomish County, Washington.
Although Janine is not the focus of the article, it's an interesting one
noetheless.

The article begins like this:

"Actress Janine Turner became the spokesperson for General Motors
automobiles in the mid-1990s — as she was winding down her role as
Maggie O'Connell in the television series `Northern
Exposure.' She was an excellent choice for the job, for she
possessed a key quality for success in that line of work: likability.
Women liked her, and men liked her very much.

"Her work for General Motors included appearing in television
commercials for their different vehicles, including the Geo Prism."
