So glad you're a Cagney freak...perhaps you can fill us in on Jimmy's "other
side...I think I'm a victim of studio and Jimmy press agent stuff...even
his biography by someone who knew him I found strangely lacking. I know he
has a semi-tryst with Merle Oberon on the War Bond tour, and a tour book
once said that Jimmy kept a showgirl in an apartment in NYC! But I never
heard about Jimmy clubbing with Raft at all...in fact, I didn't even think
they were really friends!

I was most interested to learn that you (thespider8) believe Cagney
and Raft went "clubbing" together. In all the biographies and
articles I have read on Cagney which are many, I have never come
across that before. It is so often said that Cagney hardly ever went
to a nightclub, didn't like them. However, from what I am finding
out now from constant digging, there is certainly another side to
Cagney that not many people know about, so who knows, nothing would
surprise me!! I would love to know from where you heard that Raft
and Cagney went clubbing together. Needless to say I am a Cagney
fanatic.
