"WEDNESDAY 9:30 (8:30 CENTRAL)"
Wednesday, 9:30 p.m., ET/PT
You're watching IBS - a fledgling television network trying its best
to be number one in an industry that forgets who was on top the day
before. Behind its walls are some of the craziest, quirkiest and
somewhat damaged personalities that have ever paraded through the
executive halls of Hollywood.
David Weiss (Ivan Sergei, "Jack & Jill," "The Opposite of Sex") is
the new guy, a fish out of mid-western water struggling to maintain
some semblance of normalcy in the cutthroat world of entertainment.
Hired by Red (John Cleese in a recurring role), the owner of the
network, for his insight into the average American mind, David is
upbeat and optimistic about making a difference in this world.
That's going to be a challenge considering he's working with an
atypical ensemble of crazy characters and celebrities, all
unpredictably flammable, insecure and looking over their shoulders
at all times.
David's fellow network associates include Paul Weffler (Ed Begley,
Jr.), the president of IBS, who hopes David is a golden child who'll
revive the network and save his job - without actually taking his
position away from him; Mike McClarren (James McCauley), senior vice
president of programming, who bets money that David won't last a
week in the biz without lying; Lindsay Urich (Melinda McGraw), vice
president of comedy development, who can take a man's simple "hello"
and turn it into a sexual harassment suit; and Joanne Waters (Sherri
Shepherd-Tarpley), who started at the company five months ago as an
assistant and is now the vice president of programming.
With no time to adapt, David has been thrown into the deep end of
the ocean and finds himself surrounded by sharks. But he's a
survivor, and he'll do his best to try and duck the personality
disorders of the well intentioned but misguided showbiz folks who
threaten to take his morals and decency down with them.
"WEDNESDAY 9:30 (8:30 CENTRAL" stars Ivan Sergei as David Weiss, Ed
Begley, Jr. as Paul Weffler, Melinda McGraw as Lindsay Urich, Sherri

Peter Tolan ("The Larry Sanders Show," "The Job") and Lauren Corrao
("The Job") serve as executive producers. "The Web," which is shot
before an audience, is from Touchstone Television.
