Hello Valentina & Scott,

Here's my personal ranking of movies that Gustav Molander directed and starred
Ingrid:

1) A Woman's Face (En Kvinnas Ansikte):
This is the movie whose name you didn't remember, Valentina. As far as
Ingrid's performance goes, it must rank somewhere on the very top, and not only
amongst the Swedish ones... and Molander worked the transformation of her
character beautifully - the relation to the child she nursed showed perfectly
how there was "good" in her after all.

2) Intermezzo:
I think all of us here are familiar with this (has been available on DVD for a
long time, infact the Swedish version long before the 1939 remake)

3) On the Sunny Side (På Solsidan):
A delightful comedy, in my opinion clearly better than "Dollar". Ingrid is
much more prominently "in front" here as well, as we don't have that many lead
characters. Also, seeing her acting with Lars Hanson is always a treat, AND she
certainly looked extremely beautiful in it, with nice costumes and not that
common hair-styles etc.

4) - 6) Swedenhielms, Dollar, Only One Night (En Enda Natt):
These have never been amongs my favourites... Ingrid does a good job in
everyone of them, but they lack originality of the previous ones and are quite
forgettable in my opinion. e.g She herself disliked the script of "Only One
Night" and made the movie in order to get the role in "A Woman's Face" if I
remember correctly.

X) "Necklace" in Stimulantia:
Can't give an opinion of this one, as I haven't seen it (one of 3 of all her
films that I haven't been able to track down - wish I could find this one one
day, too!)

I think for people that know Ingrid mainly from Casablanca or collaborations
with Hitchcock, it is a surprise to know that the director she worked most (in
most movies) is Molander(!): 7 including "Necklace" - only 6 with Rossellini.

BTW I've watched some movie with Garbo.
For example "The queen Christina" and the one I loved the most " Marguerite
Gaultier- The dame of Camelias".
I found her character full of charm and charisma even if very sad.

Film director? Does anyone have a favorite film in which he directed Ingrid
Bergman in or any information about the two of them?
