- Ian stars in "The Tobacco Merchant's Lawyer," a new BBC4 radio play airing December 14, 2009, and available online for a week thereafter.

- Ian's play, "Be Near Me," has been nominated for the Manchester Evening News Theatre Awards for Best Visiting Production. Ian and his co-star Blythe Duff have been nominated for best actor and actress, respectively. The winners will be announced December 8, 2009.
- Ian will be reprising his role as Father in "Six Characters in Search of an Author," performing at the Sydney (Australia) Festival January 19-31, 2010, and the Perth International Arts Festival February 6-11, 2010.
