HDFEST is an exclusively High-Definition film festival which screens films and
animations
created with High-Definition and HDV technology. All material is presented
digitally in HD
resolution with a 2K projector. Tickets to panels are only $15, tickets to
screenings are
$12 and are available online via HDFEST's website.

screening
at HDFEST will be given a free one year subscription to Moviemaker magazine.

The Los Angeles event will be taking place at the screening room at Dolby
Laboratories in
Burbank. 3601 Alameda Ave
This year the festival has panels and seminars on HD filmmaking and digital
cinema. Two
panels discussions focus specifically on HDV filmmaking and editing HDV:
"Achieving
Great Results with HDV: An Inside Look at Mojave Phone Booth" and "Surviving the
Low End
of HD: Issues and Solutions for HDV" moderated by Larry Jordan.

Presentations include HD documentaries, HD experimental films, HD music videos,
HD
features and shorts. Festival content in Los Angeles includes a truly
international selection
including films from Japan, Belgium, Germany, Canada, Spain, the UK, and The
Netherlands. Many films will be making their North American Premiere or Los
Angeles
Premiere. Almost all the films in the HDFEST Los Angeles line-up will be making
their HD
Festival Premiere.
HDFEST Los Angeles will also include the 2006 HDFEST Deffie Award Ceremony which
will
be recognizing achievement in High-Def and HDV independent filmmaking.
