HDFEST is giving away free tickets to its Visual FX panel discussion in Los Angeles on Saturday December 3rd from 4pm-5pm and free tickets away to the HD Filmmaking panel Saturday December 3rd from 8:30pm-9:30pm. These events will take place at the Dolby Laboratories Larry Umlang Presentation Theatre II in Burbank, 3601 W Alameda.
The first panel from 4pm-5pm is entitled HD Innovation and the Future of Special and Visual FX. Some of the industry's foremost special and visual effects experts will be speaking including panelists who worked on and won awards for Titanic, Independence Day, and Lord of the Rings Two Towers. This panel discussion will focus on the latest development in special and visual effects and how they are being incorporated into high-definition specifically and the film industry in general. Experts will be on hand to discuss what's new, "where it is all headed" and how these industry experts and "wizards" are overcoming common and not-so-common problems. Advice for both the seasoned vet and those new to special and visual effects will be discussed, as well as tips for the indie filmmaker bold enough to attempt to incorporate effects on a indie budget.
The HD Filmmaking Panel is running from 8:30pm-9:30pm and is entitled "HD Filmmaking Achieving Great Results with High-Definition." This panel discussion will explore the ups and downs of High-Def filmmaking. Among topics to be discussed are camera choice, editing choices, cinematography tips and price points for working in HD.
Also Sunday December 4th from 8:30pm-9:30pm, HDFEST will present a free seminar entitled "4K The Future of Filmmaking" in which DALSA Digital Cinema VP will discuss 4K and the future of capturing high resolution images as well as a special presentation by Intel.
