Re: [HDTV Production] Scanning of 24 P Footage

Hi Jay,

what recording format was used?
It is possible to archive on the native recording format which uses
much less space than uncompressing it.
The image size is 1920x1080 around 5.9mb per frame

What archive medium do you require?

Options are
Making clones on the same format it was recorded on. If HDCAM this
would cost around £2000 including tape.
Digitising and transffering to around six 500gb Firewire drives. This
would cost around £6000 including drives.
Optical disk more time consuming.

Where are you based?

regards

Mike Brennan
