Practical Color Management and the Kodak Display Manager
Presenter: Tom Maier
In the post-production of fi lm, more and more projects have gone to
the process known
as a digital intermediate for part or all of the project. The use of
digital processing of the
content gives the creative team considerable control over the fi nal
look of the project.
However, without proper color management throughout the process, the
color at each
stage of the digital intermediate will not be consistent. This talk
will give an overview
of color management - what it is, what its objective is, and how it
is done. The speaker
will also describe how the Kodak Display Manager software works as
part of the color
management of the post-production facility.
Tools and Technologies that May be used to Manage the Look of the
Image
Presenters: Scott Stevens and Carlo Hume
The Kodak Telecine Calibration System is one tool designed for
Managing the look
of the Image in the Post House facility. Other Technologies that
extend to the
Cinematographer and Laboratory are also being developed and designed.
