am guessing that he's a pretty sweet guy,
contrary to his screen image. I like those roles best -
Baines, Augie, Judas, Hal, etc.
Harvey has had a
profound impact on me, in just about every way imaginable.
I want to meet him
so much it's killing me. We
might not have much in common, but there's this
connection I can't
shake off. Sounds flaky I know.
I'm entering my favorite Harvey quote, from an old
magazine interview (if any of you have a copy of this,
I've never seen the whole thing, and would love to
read it). It is the main task of my life,
and it
might take all of it to get there!
would hardly consider it dorky to
loveKeitel, jeanaunt. He rocks beyond all comprehension! Forget all
those bubbly,commercial,movie-star types. Keitel is the
genuine article. I've said it before,Harvey is a national
treasure!
i guys - I'm a new member. Have any of you
ever met Harvey in person, or otherwise made contact?
I really want to meet him, and I'd also like to
know if there's a good place to send mail/gifts. (The
official way is supposed to be through Wm Morris Agency in
CA, but I'm guessing Harvey never sees any of that.)
On a scale of fan-dom, I'm at the
high-priestess-of-Harvey-worship level. Sad but true. Dork city.
tarring Harvey Keitel(he also executive produced) opens
in a limited, nationwide release this Friday,May
14.Also, "Finding Graceland",starring Keitel and Bridget
Fonda, airs for the first timeanywhere on Cinemax on

ID YOU KNOW? Harvey is not only a great
actor, but heis a buff on the history of acting. Hesaid in a
1993 Esquire interview that inancient Greece, actors
were called "Troglodoi", or, "Goatsingers".He said
that that's how he thinks of himself,as a
"Goatsinger". Hence, he has recently launched his
ownindependent production company in NYC,called..."Goatsinger
Films". It is rightacross the street from his old
buddyRobert DeNiro's company,Tribeca prods.Talk about
friendly competition!

or those of you who are fans of the darker,
edgier Keitel films, I strngly recommend the forgotten
1978 masterpiece,"Fingers",written and directed by
James Toback. It has Harvey as a mob debt collector
who'd rather bea concert pianist.(Think "Reservoir
Dogs" meets "The Piano"!) The film has an explosive
ending that will knock you into next week! Well worth
seeing,if you can find it.
he new film,"Finding Graceland",will first air
on Cinemax cable on Friday,May 21,1999, at 8PM. It
will also air several other times durng the month. It
will likely be released on video in the fall.It stars
Harvey Keitel as a 60 year old drifter who's convinced
he's Elvis! Bridget Fonda also stars as a Marilyn
Monroe impersonator. Together, they embark on a fateful
road trip to Memphis with a greiving widower. The
eccentric comedy/road movie was directed by David Winkler.
It got raves at the Toronto Film Festival,so it's
well worth a look!
