For anyone who's never seen it, the 2000 CBS TV production of "Fail
Safe" is coming to R1 DVD from Warner Bros. on June 5.

This all-star prod. was originally a LIVE theatrical broadcast that
aired as it was being performed on April 9,2000. It aired on CBS only
that once, and hasn't aired since. It has been available on DVD in
Europe before, but never in the U.S.. Frankly, I thought for a long
time that it would never re-surface in America again, after 9/11. If
you see the film, you'll know what I mean.

The cast includes George Clooney, Richard Dreyfuss, Harvey Keitel,
Don Cheadle, Noah Wyle, Brian Dennehy, James Cromwell, and Sam Elliot.
It is directed by Stephen Frears. Obviously, it is a remake of the old
Sidney Lumet film, which itself was based on a Cold War novel.

It's well worth checking out, but it's even more disturbing now than
it was then.
