Wakey wakey, mates!
I've received an update on "What I'm Doing During My Summer What's A Vacation"
from Greg.
Currently,he's at the St Lawrence Shakespeare Festival in Canada (of
course) which finishes up soon. Then he's directing 'Inherit the Wind' at the
Segal Theatre, Montreal.
My apologies for not providing links but I'm running a tad late and need to get
to work. Maybe someone can do a bit of googlin' today.

It is Vachon ;-)
As for Greg, he recently directed a production of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" in the
Montreal area. I probably should've posted a link to some of the reviews and
notices but it slipped my mind. I don't know if it has closed yet.

Hisselfishness' birthday is coming up in a few days and I'm more than willing
to forward birthday greetings and salutations to him. Remember his
newest movie "300" opens this weekend as well! Along with your birthday
greetings, if you have a favorite "wacky and crazy" website, why not offer the
link up as a birthday gift? Maybe a favorite stupid (or gross) game, some sort
of crazy information, that sort of thing. Not required, I just thought he
might get a kick out of some offerings. Send to:

"happy birthday, Greg" so I know it isn't spam. I'll forward them
sometime this weekend. --Libs gReG kRaMeR fan klub directorate

doing right now. Busy as usual. So in his own words -- Libs:
O Thank You to all the brave souls who put their lives on the line for my

taken with how many of you lot travel original (!) paths through life.
Busy, yes.
Directing: Have a Heart at the Centaur Theatre, opens in 2 weeks.
Directing: The Gut Girls at Concordia University, in preproduction.
I have at least three writing projects on the go...

This is it. The last call. I still don't have as many greetings as I'd like
(there can never be TOO many <g>). I'll probably send them to him tomorrow
night, so I need to receive the ASAP.
It's that time of the year. Bonnie and I have both been busy so haven't had
time to do a proper birthday package for our favorite droog. He'd probably
say
he has enough stuff anyway...
So, instead, we'd like to gather e-mails for him! E-mail me OFF-LIST at
_Libratsie@..._ (mailto:Libratsie@...) telling Greg a little about
yourself (the crazier, the better although mundane is fine, too). Write him
a
little poem. Just wish him a happy birthday! Tell him how much you love his
books
if you've read them. Anything. I'll forward all the message to him at once
on
his birthday (I think March 11, Bonnie will correct me if I'm wrong<g>)
He really does enjoy learning about his fans! Years ago, I did a printed
"book" of the Ratpack for him and he asked lots of questions about folksies
after reading through it.
I also issued a "Screed's Birthday Suit" challenge on fkfic-l a few weeks
ago. I'll be contacting the authors to get permission to post those to
Greg's/Screed's/The Ratpack's webpage where he can put his peepers on them
at his
convenience.
We hear about Ger and Nigel a lot, let's show one of the other FK actors
who
made the show so special that we STILL think of him fondly ;-D

"I do not want this carouche rummaging through my garbage," LaCroix said
through clinched teeth.
"It's just garbage, LaCroix," Nick said.
Urs stepped slightly forward, shifting slightly from foot to foot
nervously. "If... if it's the mess, I'll clean it up."
"That is not the point although I do not appreciate empty cans and
bottles littering my alley. It attracts vermin."
Screed stuck his head out from beneath a table. "And fattens the
squealers up right nicely, too. Gives them a taste h'as sweet h'as wine from
the
vino. Ya kin't blame a droog fer..."
"Shut up, Screed!" Nick, Urs, and Vachon said simultaneously. LaCroix
was much too old and powerful to say "shut up," so he demanded, "Silence!"
Vachon scratched his head. His head as in Vachon's head, not LaCroix's.
Vachon was a slacker, not stupid. "What if I have a talk with Screed?" he
asked. "Screed's stubborn, but maybe if you let him live this time..."
"And let ol' Screed keep 'iz prezzie," Screed interrupted.
Vachon shrugged, "And let him keep it this once. I'll convince him to
keep his dumpster diving away from The Raven."
"Besides, LaCroix, you threw it out because it was worn out," Nick said.
"One man's trash is another man's treasure."
"That," LaCroix pointed at Screed's hiding place, "is not a man. It is
not even a proper vampire. It is a carouche! It drinks animal blood,
Nicholas, much like you."
Urs and Vachon looked everywhere except at Nick. Screed, however, looked
directly at him, grinning. "'Ey, defect-a-tive Knight-night, makes us
practically brudders, eh?"
What resembled a growl escaped from LaCroix's mouth. "No, it does NOT!"
A threatening glare in Screed's direction caused the carouche to retreat as
far back under the table as he could manage.
Urs moved silkily to LaCroix's side, running a hand up his chest while
gazing up into his eyes. "Please?"
LaCroix sighed. "Okay, he can keep it if you insist. This one time."
He took Urs' arm and led her towards his living quarters. Right before
reaching the door, he looked over his shoulder. "That... thing is not to wear
the
suit here. In fact, he is not to wear it within two kilometers of The Raven.
Is that understood?"
"We'll make sure he does," Nick agreed. "Thank you."
Without acknowledgment, LaCroix opened the door for Urs, then slammed it
behind them.
Screed scurried out from beneath the table, nearly crawling out of his
pants in the process. He stood, grinning and holding up the suit trousers
with one hand while brushing the stained jacket's lapel with the other. The
Armani suit was very baggy. "A bit o' wear an' tear an wine ta be sure,"
Screed
admitted. "But never did a droog 'ave a better birfday suit, eh?!"
"Happy birthday, Screed," Nick said.
"Tha' ol' Screed will do, you kin put a fiver h'on it ta win, place an'
show." The carouche left the Raven, holding up the pants with both hands in
order to walk.
"Thanks, Nick," Vachon said. "You've made his day."
"Not a problem," Nick assured him.
"Anything to get under LaCroix's skin, huh?"
Nick smiled slightly. "No comment."

I finally received my copy of "Wally" yesterday and have (finally) started
reading it.
I'm only a few chapters in and can truthfully say this is a brilliant, engaging
novel. The descriptions alone are very true and will lure you into the
characters and story.
(Those of you who are fans of Greg's other books will appreciate the zany
circumstances surrounding my beginning to read this book. Sunday afternoon I
took off my glasses, grabbed a bottle of shampoo, and when I opened the bottle,
a glob of pure shampoo gushed out directly into my right eye. I've been in
severe pain before, and have chronic pain, and let me tell ya, this just about
topped everything else. My eye nearly swelled shut and half the right side of my
face was puffy most of the day yesterday. And here I am, Wally finally in my
hands and I'm in too much pain to read comfortably. OW OW OW!)

Amazon, Barnesandnobel.com, and other sites often allow readers to leave reviews
of books whether you purchased it from their sites or not. Be sure to do so for
his books<g>
--Libs
Unfortunately, I don't have a good independent bookstore to plug, but I have
ordered "Pursemonger" from the local Barnes & Nobel several times. I don't know
if they can get it any longer. There are several locally owned bookstores in my
area, but all majorly out of the way for me.
For those in the Toronto area, may I suggest "This Ain't The Rosedale Library."
I'm not sure they are on-line or not, but are a book store geared towards Gays &
Lesbians, and should have all of Greg's books.
Alas, I have an Amazon credit card so that's how I must order this time.
For those (like me) who frequent local libraries, many let patrons recommend
books. That's how my small town local library ended up with a copy of
"Pursemonger." ;-D Some may allow patrons to donate books in honor of people.
Wouldn't it be cool to purchase a book for a library?

For those of you interested in obtaining Greg's books, they can still be
mail ordered (easily) from Canada.
More information:

And, btw, Greg says that it benefits a *lot* of people when you can order
through a neighborhood bookshop rather than from a big chain like Amazon
(not to disparage Amazon or anything). I've personally mailed ordered from
Rosedale's and got wonderful service! Just takes a phone call and a credit
card.
But, I believe ALL of Greg's books are still available in Canada. The
newest may be a little harder to get, since I think the official launch may
have been delayed due to his recent surgery.
