He wasn't in them much, mostly a few shots of him in the crowd watching
the girls rollerskate... at one point he has two lovely young things
next to him.  I have the screen caps somewhere.  Thought I had posted
them here at the photos section.  I'll check.

I have most all of the tape things you're looking for.  Have finally
gotten my DVD recorder set up and am learning how to work with it.

interviews, Chips episodes you have. I have most of George's films.

quirky, fun things that happened to you on October 1?  I have a good

didn't hurt that he was required to kiss all those beautiful women...)

I didn't know you ordered it because of me, and am glad you are
enjoying it. For those of us who remember the era, Banacek was a bit
of an odd ball during the age of hippiedom (the fading of that age,
to be sure, but still it nonetheless). Ascots, classic cars, short
hair, mini-mansion, button-up sweaters, chauffeur, and antique
everything, along with the latest technology present but thankfully
out of sight (answer machine in a desk drawer, TV behind a painting,
no wires visible anywhere). And he was proud of being Polish, for
heaven's sakes, a nationality that has never gotten much good press,
but got even worse attention back then with the "Dumb Polock" jokes
(that Banacek's chauffeur liked to tell when he thought Banacek
wasn't around--but, of course, Banacek was always around to anything
of interest).

The women are a bit of a downside to me, because they inevitably
throw themselves at Banacek only to be discarded before the next
episode. Banacek's women hit their low mark in "If Max Is So Smart,
Why Doesn't He Tell Us Where He Is?". At one point, he walks into the
nurses' lounge for information only to have the nurses throw
themselves at him as if they were hookers. In the final scene of that
episode, he is pictured walking off with a gaggle of nurses to whom
he is telling the story of Winnie the Pooh, by which they are quite
naturally fascinated.

Banacek was made to have culture and depth in every way but his
relationship with women.

Just hoping to get a little discourse going here...What's your
favorite role(s) that George played? Why?

Here's mine:
Hannibal Smith-The A Team
George had already played the hollywood game by this point and was
probably just happy to be working.  It was a fun role for him and, if
you read interviews from the time, he always relayed how much he
enjoyed playing the character.  Okay, okay, the show wasn't up for any
emmys, but it was good clean fun. If you're too high-brow for the
show, at least give George a look in this role.

Thomas Banacek-Banacek

powerhouse performance by him.  (And we get to see him ease across the
dance floor too!)

Hi Lowell!
Good news, no logo and very good quality video/audio.  The only plug
for TV Guide appears in the form of a crossword puzzle bonus
feature.  Oh and there's a slide show gallery of clips from the
show, cast members, guest stars and such, but it's free from
advertising! I highly recommend it.  In fact, I can't wait for
season 2!
