I'm thinking again of placing a memorial ad for George in the Hollywood
Reporter, for the
15th anni of his passing.
Last time I did this, I asked for assistance from his fans, but received only 2.
This is
something for the whole Hollywood community to see, to know that he has NOT been
forgotten. Most fan clubs of deceased actors are thrilled to support such a
project and do
it regularly 'every year'. I've posted pix of the ad from 2004 in the photo
section here.
Take a look.
The ad has to be set in stone by mid-to late March, and paid at least a week
before it
comes out on the newsstands. If anyone wants to help financially (I've been out
of work
since 2007, so it's iffy anyway), it would be appreciated. They will get a copy
of the
Hollywood Reporter with the memorial in it. (That's about $3-4 just to buy the
magazine.)
Anyone wishing to assist, please contact me off list. Contributors will be
listed on the
memorial ad, so you can be seen as his fan, unless you prefer not to have your
name on it.
Last time in 2004 (when I was working), the ad ran $750 for a 1/8 page.
Probably more
now. I'll research and let any one interested know.
I will not be posting a lot on this unless I hear from any interested people.
*If* I can do
the ad, I might buy a few copies of the HR and make available after the fact.
Thanks for reading this.
