Hi everyone!
Just hoping to get a little discourse going here...What's your
favorite role(s) that George played? Why?
Here's mine:
Hannibal Smith-The A Team
George had already played the hollywood game by this point and was
probably just happy to be working. It was a fun role for him and, if
you read interviews from the time, he always relayed how much he
enjoyed playing the character. Okay, okay, the show wasn't up for any
emmys, but it was good clean fun. If you're too high-brow for the
show, at least give George a look in this role.
Thomas Banacek-Banacek
I wasn't sure what I was getting into when I ordered the Banacek
collection, but after reading how much Lowell enjoyed the show, I took
the risk and put out my money. Much to my surprise I found a gem of a
70's tv series. George was perfect for this one. This character was
highly intelligent, witty, romantic, and cunning. It was another role
that he often said he enjoyed playing. (Of course, it probably didn't
hurt that he was required to kiss all those beautiful women...)
Sam Sheppard-The Sam Sheppard Murder Case (made for tv movie)
Brought the character to life in an accurate, compelling performance.
He was brilliant in this role and would have been nominated for an
emmy as best actor in a tv movie/mini-series, except for a lost bag of
mail...(leave it to the USPS) Anyway, it's often cited as a
powerhouse performance by him. (And we get to see him ease across the
dance floor too!)
Sorry-couldn't pick just one role. What about you? WHICH ARE YOUR
FAVORITES????????
