In that line of thought, I often thought that George was leaning
toward comedy (Lion in Winter is a comedy of sorts), and would
probably have ended up like Leslie Nielson, with the older fellow and
life full of malaprops... I would have loved to see that! He could be
quite funny. Some parts of PAPA were downright hysterical and he
would toss out the lines with that twinkle in his eye, 'knowing' the
effect it would have on the audience. Sigh. Have to go find that
Papa tape I made...
