Dawn was sitting in the living room reading the TVGuide, without much luck. “There is nothing on.”

In came Hermione and sat down next to Dawn.

“Hey”

“Hi Hermione, what’s up?”

Hermione cleared her throat and looked at Dawn.

Dawn looked up.

“Dawn I, Dawn, I uh, I don’t know how else to say this, but I feel I must.”

Dawn put down the guide and looked intently at Hermione.

“Dawn I”

“Well, what is it?”

Hermione took a deep breath, “Dawn, I, I think I love you.”

Dawn’s eyes became big and round "What!" exhaled in a loud whisper from Dawn.

Hermione's eyes became big and round, "I shouldn't have said it, Dawn, I'm sorry."

Dawn found her lower lip beginning to tremble. “Hermione, I love you too.”

"You do?"

“Dawn, we’ve been through a lot in the short time we have known each other. I, I never have felt like this about anybody.” Hermione moved closer to Dawn and reached out and brushed Dawn’s hair back, much like Buffy always does, then, with tears streaming down her cheeks came very close to Dawn, so close their lips only brushed, each looking deep into the other’s eyes then the lips came together as each embraced the other. The kiss seemed to last an eternity, each feeling the other’s trembling lips.

Hermione sat back, “Dawn, I, I have never kissed another girl like that before, ever.”

“Neither have I,” said Dawn with tears streaming down her cheeks.

“Why are we crying?” whispered Hermione.

Neither responded, for they both knew at some level they had fallen in love and knew the tears were coming from an emotional level so intense neither could begin to describe it. All they could do is sit and stare at each other.

“What should we do?” asked Hermione.

Dawn leaned in towards Hermione and pressed her lips on Hermione’s and began to move her head slightly and felt Hermoine’s arms embrace her and pull her close.

“Hey guys! What!” Ginny stood in the hallway staring at Hermione and Dawn. “Are you guys kissing?”

Both Hermione and Dawn immediately broke apart and sat with eyes big and round, staring at Ginny. Neither knew what to say. Ginny came into the room and sat on the coffee table. “Okay, what is going on?”

“I, uh, we, we are in love Ginny,” Dawn finally answered.

“What!”

Hermione took another big breath but said with a smile, hearing Dawn say that they were in love created a feeling of warmth, deep within her soul, “Yes Ginny, Dawn and I have discovered that we love each other. It is not as weird as you might be thinking, you know that Willow and Tara love each other too. We, just realized that we have a special feeling for each other. Is there anything wrong with that?”

Ginny sat with a frown, “I guess, its just that it seems, well, I love Harry, it your love for each other like my love for Harry?”

This time Hermione was the one who looked a bit shocked, “You love Harry?”

Ginny began to blush, “Well, we all thought you loved my brother.”

Hermione looked shocked, “Ron? That’s different.”

Ginny scrunched up her forehead, “How?”

Hermione began to realize that love can be very very confusing and more complicated than she had ever guessed. “It just is Ginny.”

Dawn looked at Hermione, “Who is Ron?”

Suddenly the spell was broken.

Dawn stood up, “Hey guys, why don’t we all go to the Magic Shop, there is a cool burger place on the way, my treat!”

The three exited out the front door, none noticing a woman standing just inside the kitchen watching them leave. “Yes Hermione, it is different.” Whispered Willow.
