To Frodo
You've calmed my fears
and dried my tears
and kept me safe for all these years.
You came to me in nightly dreams
and sewed up my heart's almost bursting seams.
It's been a rough and rocky road
me with all my many shortcomings
I know they must have sometimes showed
but you've overlooked those many things
and stuck with me thru
the Sun and rain
and held me when I've felt like going insane...
you've stayed with me when I felt alone
you've been there when I felt like I had no one.
I look into your eyes of brilliant blue
and thank God above that I know you.
I hear you sing of love and other things
and suddenly my heart has fragile wings
and it makes it seem like I could take flight
for with you near me everything seems alright
and in the dark you hold me tight
scaring away the monsters that haunt me in the night.
I want you to know this comes from my heart
I felt only true goodness and love from the start
and I hope you and I will never part.
I tell you this and I am sincere
I hold your love forever near
Frodo, I have found a friend in you
a soul that's kind
and pure and true
and over time I came to love you.
I just wanted you to know
