After a long wait, Rita has received her new computer and is back on
email again. She sent me an email message today with some news: "I am
off to Turkey next week; PUFFBALL is screening at a festival there. It
has already opened in Montreal to mixed reviews but Nic Roeg always has
that with his films, and then a few years later they think the film is a
masterpiece. It will open in London in February or March."
"I have been asked to be part of the BAFTA birthday celebration evening
(60 years old), it should be a nice evening. Then I am going to Rome
early November to do some press for the opening of THE HIDEOUT."
"Also in November I am introducing SMASHING TIME at the BFI, it is an
evening for George Melly who recently passed away. I was very fond of
him."
