Re: Rita's daughter/breast cancer

Hi Cheryl,

Thanks for your very kind concern about Aisha's health. To the best of
my knowledge, she is doing fine. She had a course of chemotherapy and
then a course of radiation therapy late last year. Her recent 3-month
checkups have been good also. Like most cancer survivors, she will be
taking Tamoxifen for the next five years as a preventive measure.

Rita and Aisha talk about their experience in this article that
appeared in the UK Telegraph newspaper last August:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/global/main.jhtml?
xml=/global/2006/08/21/hknack21.xml

Rita and Aisha also told their story in an interview on the UK "Richard
& Judy" talk show last July. I can send you a DVD of this show if
you're interested.

Aisha (which means "life" in Arabic) works in London in post-
production, and is listed on the IMDb:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2237184/

I'm afraid that I don't have Aisha's email address, though she has
corresponded with me a couple of times using Rita's email account,
mostly when Rita has been out of town. But I will pass along your kind
offer of support the next time I'm in contact with her.

Regarding your comment, "Really don't know why I stayed in this group
as I have only seen "A Taste of Honey" and loved it", I would just say
that there are quite a few group members with similar backgrounds.

Some folks are only interested in one or two of Rita's films. Others
have expressed an interest in a particular time period, e.g., early
60s. Whatever your reasons for being a Tush fan, we're glad to have
you in this group.

Kind regards,
Robert

(P.S. - I have a DVD of 'A Taste Of Honey' that plays on American DVD
players and can send you a copy, if that would be of interest. For
other DVD info, check out my website.)
