I would like to mention five items:

-(1)-
A minor update to my "Hollywood UK" disc set.

As you may know, this five-part series about 1960s British filmmaking
was originally broadcast on BBC2 in 1993. It has been repeated on
BBC4 twice within the past year, although 12 minutes were cut from
each rebroadcast episode (unforgiveable!).

Several club members have obtained DVD copies from me of the original
1993 broadcasts. However, my copy of episode 2, "Making It In
London", has always been incomplete. It was recorded by a collector
who missed the first two and a half minutes of the show (due to an
inconsistent starting time, I think).

Thanks to the kind assistance of another collector, I have obtained a
copy of the complete episode 2. Our Rita appears in the missing two
and a half minutes, in clips from "The Knack", and also reminiscing
with Lynn Redgrave in the back seat of a car, singing a few bars
of "Smashing Time".

I recently acquired a copy of a one-time-only broadcast of Rita's one-
hour TV play "I've Been Eddie Mostyn". This was telecast by BBC-
Wales in March 1996.

A gentleman in Wales was cleaning out his video collection, and was
actually selling a copy of Rita's "Girl With Green Eyes", but said
that he would also "throw in this old Eddie Mostyn thing he had lying
around". Holy cow! He obviously didn't know how rare it is. I
would be happy to provide a copy to anyone interested. Visit my

Rita's recent guest appearances on "New Tricks" (episode 2.5, 06 Jun
2005) and "Agatha Christie's Miss Marple" ("The Sittaford Mystery",
30 Apr 2006) are available on official Region 2 DVDs. The "New
Tricks" episode has been released as part of a Season 2 set, while
the Marple episode is coming out this summer, both individually and
as part of a Marple collection. Links to online sellers are on my

I recently received a note from Rita saying that she just finished
filming "Puffball" last weekend, in Monaghan, Ireland (about 2 hours
northwest of Dublin). She's now trying to get caught up with
everything that piled up while she was gone.

-(5)-
Rita has been approached several times over the years to write her
autobiography, but it looks like it is finally going to happen. She
now has a book editor, who has just finished a book about director
Ken Loach. Rita has been shopping for a laptop computer with which
to write the book.

Being a bit cheeky, I suggested a few possible titles for her
book: "The Face Of The Sixties", "An Unlikely Career", "Not Just
Another Pretty Face" (my favorite). Does anyone have any suggestions
for other possible titles?
