(Ultra) Rare Rita   Message List

Hi all -

I now have on hand three ultra-rare Rita features.

1. A Place To Go (1963)

Life in Bethnal Green is changing for the Flints. Son Ricky (pop
singer Michael Sarne) is dissatisfied with his lot and eager to get
away. Mixed up in a planned robbery, his life becomes even more
complicated when he gets involved with quirky Catherine Donovan (Rita
Tushingham).

The recording has three minor shortcomings -
(a) a transparent Channel 5 logo in the upper left corner
(unnoticeable, really);
(b) a two-second video dropout about two-thirds of the way through
the movie;
(c) about 30 seconds of slightly distorted audio immediately
following the video dropout, then the audio resynchronizes.

2. Comedy Playhouse (1974 Apr 16) "No Strings" TV episode (yeah, I
got things sorted out with that film collector)

When Derek (Keith Barron) advertises for a flatmate, he gets more
than he bargained for — the lonely and quirkily charming Leonora
(Rita Tushingham), who, albeit unintentionally, disrupts his life in
a major way.

Was the pilot episode for a six-episode comedy series shown in late
1974. Still looking for those six eps...

3. Seeing Things (1984 Jan 15) "Seeing R.E.D." TV episode

Journalist Louie Ciccone (Louis Del Grande) has psychic abilities,
which help him solve mysteries. In episode 3.1, Louie tries to prove
that hockey player Kenny Volker is innocent of murder. There's more
to this mystery than meets the eye, as Louie runs afoul of
unscrupulous research scientist Dr. Jessica Edwards (Rita
Tushingham), a chimpanzee named B.F. Skinner, and the dangerous
leader of an Army commando unit.

A Canadian TV series (1981-1987) about a newspaper reporter who
receives occasional psychic visions.
---

All three features are available in NTSC format (US, Canada) and in
PAL format (UK, Europe). Figure $1 per DVD for the cost of
materials, and $2.50 per DVD for postage to US destinations ($3.50
for the UK).

It is most extraordinary to have found all these titles in the same
month. This would be similar to finding Bigfoot, the Loch Ness
monster, and Roswell aliens all attending the same Halloween party.
A tremendous stroke of good luck (perhaps I ought to buy lottery
tickets this month)!

If interested in a copy of one or more of these titles, kindly send
me an email message, rjd0309@...

Cheers,
Robert

Robert, a very belated thanks for "A Place to Go"--what a pleasure to finally see this lost Rita performance. She steals the entire movie, easily, with her...
