In her interview on "The Paul O'Grady Show", Rita was once again
asked how she got the role in "A Taste Of Honey". I would think that
she would get tired of telling that story. Or being asked that
question. I mean, she could just put that story on cassette tape,
and play the tape whenever necessary!
I imagine it must be difficult when one's very first film is so
popular, and makes such an indelible mark upon the film world.
Everyone wants to talk about ATOH, and her later work is seldom
mentioned. Don't get me wrong, I love ATOH too, but I wish that more
of her films could be discussed, not just ATOH and Smashing Time.
Well, okay, except for "Doctor Zhivago". Here's the thing -- when I
first became a fan, I set up my eBay account to perform regular
searches for Rita's films. But for every copy of "A Judgement In
Stone" or "Swing" that turns up, the computer turns up 100 copies
of "Doctor Zhivago"! I'm just sick and tired of running into Doctor
Zhivago all the time...
