Hi Greg,
Glad that the "Human Jungle" info was helpful. Thanks to
Ken for picking up that thread again.
"A Place To Go (1964)" remains at the top of my "Ten Most
Wanted" Rita list, which includes her TV series "No Strings
(1974)" and a few others.
I have searched for APTG quite a bit myself, and my computer
also looks for it periodically. I've also enlisted the aid of
a couple of firms that specialize in locating rare films. You
only have to pay them if they locate the film for you.
So far, nobody has been able to confirm that APTG was ever
even released on VHS. But I'm continuing with the search.
Thinking that APTG might be one of those movies whose legal
ownership may be in question, I asked Jamie at Thesmallscreen
to add it to his list of movies to check for "public domain"
rights. No info from him as yet.
By the way, you had asked whether Rita has any scheduled
public appearances in 2005. I asked her agent's assistant
about this, but my email went unanswered. I therefore
asked Rita herself, in a recent fan letter, but have not
yet heard back from her.
I haven't yet told her that we've found her old TV
performance from "Human Jungle". I bet she was hoping that
it would stay buried for eternity -- "Oh, no! That crap
hasn't resurfaced again, has it?!" But we love our Rita,
and would feel shortchanged if we couldn't have access to
ALL of her performances.
Cheers,
Robert
