The unexpectedly well-made horror film SLITHER has gotten a lot of
positive press. This movie both makes humorous references to campy
thrillers, and also is very cleaver in the way it has taken all the
best ideas of modern horror classics and whipped them up into
something better. CLEVER, AND FUN, some reviewers call it the best
horror movie in the past several years.


ICE AGE 2 is largely a rehashing of the same characters in the
original. Almost totally LACKING IN NEW IDEAS, the best parts of the
movie are considered to be the scenes with the ice age squirrel in
them. Children will probably still find enjoyment in the pedestrian
plot, and the animation is very high quality.


Most viewers agree that Sharon Stone still looks great in BASIC
INSTINCT 2, but the transparent twists, and EXTREMELY POOR SCREEN
WRITING have made this one of the most poorly reviewed films of the
year. The movie takes place in Europe, but that is about the only
difference from the original.


The hackneyed morality tale of ALT has little to offer in the way of
story. A movie set in the ghetto where young adults are trying to get
out and live a better life has elements seen in many movies before.
The plot twists are numerous, and the plot murky. This movie has been
reviewed as LARGELY MEDIOCRE.
