"Now when I was a young man - I carried me pack
And I lived - the free life of the rover.
From the Murray's green basin - to the dusty outback
Well, I waltzed my Matilda - all over..."

"Then in nineteen fifteen - my country said, "Son,
It's time to stop ramblin' - there's work to be done."
So they gave me a tin hat - and they gave me a gun,
And they marched me - away to the war..."

"And the band played 'Waltzing Matilda'
As the ship - sailed away from the quay,
And amidst all the cheers - the flag-waving and tears
We sailed off - for Gallipoli..."

Ok, I removed a few members just now, the ones who had long lasting e-mail
issues and
bouncing addresses ... hence the change in the number of people registered here.

This shouldn't cause problems to the people who were active and T.C.B. of course
(Taking
Care Of Business) Checking their messages regularly and all that.

If there are 'Individual e-mails' people who were just 'removed' that still want
to be
part of the group, then they can sign up again and make sure their e-mail
address is not
'Bouncing' the group's messages repeatedly of course, or choose the 'I'll read
the
messages on the website' option (Except for my 'Picturesoftheday' group of
course since
the e-mail
attachments are not stored by Yahoo).

Cheers !

******* Multiple Exorcisms required !!

Ok, I made other plans tonight and decided to watch both 'Exorcist : The
beginning'
(2004) and 'Dominion : Prequel to the Exorcist' (2004) back to back ...
(Multiple
exorcisms required) ;-)

I first watched 'The beginning' and wasn't too impressed although I was still
scared in
part and it was still mildly effective, not a bad 'Exorcism' movie, not great
either, but
hey, at least it's better than 'Exorcist 2 : The erratic' ;-) I appreciated
the
gratuitous 'pretty doctor in the shower' scene too, this made it clear Renny
Harlin was
directing !

In part I was thinking they should have mixed horror and comedy too, maybe it
would have
been better, also sometimes it was reminding me of wrestling (rasslin') the way
the DEVIL
was standing right there, talking smack and trying to intimidate Father Merrin,
I mean
come on, It looked like stuff from the WWE, written by Vince McMahon (Mr.
McMahon) and
co. But instead of RIC FLAIR, it was Stellan Stellan Skarsgard as the priest
...
Whooooooooo !! (I would have liked RIC FLAIR instead personally !!)

2.5/5, nothing I would watch again but still not the disaster I was expecting.

The disaster came later ... when I watched ... DOMINION : Prequel to the
Exorcist ... now
I can understand 'The suits' from the studio scrapping this film STAT and hiring
Harlin
to make another one ... (Pretty rare I agree with 'The suits' ... but this time
I do ....
because I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo bored watching this !!!!

Nothing interesting was happening the whole time (Well, except for the opening
'Nazi
sequence' that was well made. It was downhill from there with a lot of
uninteresting
material imho.

'The beginning' at least made it's budget money back in theaters, but 'Dominion'
would
have been a sitting duck, no doubt ... booooooooooooooooring !! I thought it
would be
scary but it made me laugh out loud a few times instead, this was MST3K material
in part,
the EVIL BEING near the end was reminding me of a thin 'Mr. Clean' ...

Funny I never thought 'Mr. Clean' was an evil being ... but in retrospect that
would
explain a lot of things ... ;-) 0.5/5, because of the Nazi scene as I said,
otherwise
it would be a
'0' ...

Cheers !

Marc ;-)

Hi,

Underworld Evolution, (2006) - 6/10.

The centuries old fight between Lycans (Werewolves) and the Vampires
continues. Selene (Kate Beckinsale) and Michael (Scott Speedman), the
half vampire-half lycan are on the run after a plot was uncovered or
something. A new player comes onto the scene in the form of Marcus, the
first ever vampire. Funny, I thought that was Dracula......

I was no huge fan of the fist Underworld film. I found it to be an
entertaining enough film, that was a bit over the place in terms of
direction. It also contains the worst acting performance ever committed
to film thanks to the one, the only Mr Shane Brolly. It's with some
surprise then that I can report that this sequel is in-fact superior to
it's predecessor. Thanks in no small part to Mr Brolly being be-headed
some 5 minutes into the film (spoiler).

What follows is a pretty enjoyable chase film as Beckinsale and Michael
try to evade Marcus whilst building up an idea of just what the hell is
going on with the war. Some new parties are introduced and some cool
action scenes unfold. I have to also say that the SFX in this film are
pretty damn good for what I would assume is a slight budget when
compared to more high profile FX heavy releases. Some of the Lycan
transformations are particularly impressive as is the work around Marcus.

Beckinsale again graces the screen with an abundance of skin tight PVC,
which in itself is a recommendation for any warm blooded male. Speedman
simply looks brooding throughout. A few familiar faces pop-up in
flashbacks, most notably Bill Nighy who goes to the lengths of sitting
down, opening a napkin and using a fork and knife to chew his
surrounding scenery.

Evolution does what so many films fail to do, improve on a lackluster
original. Whilst not earth-shatteringly amazing the film is just enough
on the right side of entertaining to be worth an hour and a half of your
valuable time.

--
Regards,

Scott.

Hi,

Murderball, (2005) - 9/10.

This documentary follows the sport of Quad Rugby, a wheelchair based
team sport played by Quadriplegics which is a favourite at the 4-yearly
Paralympics. We see both that USA and Canada teams as they both prepare
and take part in the 2004 games, a grudge match since Canada is now
coached by a former Team USA star.

Murderball is more than a simple sports documentary, it is a display of
how a seemingly negative life changing event can open new doors and lead
to opportunities and experiences that would never have been available
before. After going through these terrible injuries and diseases the
victims are now able to play for their country at a fiercely competitive
level, to travel the world and perhaps most importantly, to give hope to
those that are just starting the long road to recovery.

It is truly a heart warming experience to watch a film which offers such
an overwhelmingly positive message of hop to those who at times probably
feel like there is none. Mark Zupan is a starling example, thrown from a
flatbed truck at age 18, he has come back to be the linchpin of the
current USA team. If you looked at him from the waist up with his bald
head, goatee and tattoos you would think he was just a normal twenty
something looking for the closest skate park. Look farther down though
and you see his chair. But, to him it is an opportunity.

These guys are serious athletes that train hard and want to be the best.
Perhaps none more so that ex Team USA member Joe Soares who felt he was
cruelly dumped by the team and takes up the coach role of Team Canada.
Soares is fiercely competitive and at times finds it hard to hide his
disappointment with his son not getting into sports. His life is changed
by a serious incident though and he even plays out a real life version
of the old movie cliche, a father running against the clock to catch his
kid perform at a school recital.

The film is full of stories of courage and battling against adversity
and the odds. Some of the best scenes involve a young man just injured
in a motocross accident, when Zupan visits him it gives him a new
perspective and new found drive for a goal to work towards.

From a year chock full of exemplary documentaries, Murderball is the
finest.

******** I thought it was cute ! Esp. the part about the spaghetti ! ;-)

........

Answers given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

   Why do you need mothers?
   1. She's the only one who knows where the sticky tape is.
   2. Mostly to clean the house and do the washing.
   3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

   How are mothers made?
   1. With dirt, just like for the rest of us.
   2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
   3. Mum is made the same as me, just with bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of?
   1. Mothers are made out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the
world and one dab of mean.
   2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use
string, I think.

Why do you have your mother and not some other mother?
   1.We're related.
   2. Because she likes me a lot more than other people's mums like me.

What kind of little girl was your mum?
   1. My mum has always been my mum and none of that other stuff.
   2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
   3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mum need to know about dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on
beer?
3. Does he have some money? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to helping with
the housework?

Why did your mum marry your dad?
1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mum eats a lot.
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My nana says that Mum didn't have her thinking cap on.

Who's the boss at your house?
1. Mum doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a whacker.
2. Mum. You can tell when she's checking your room. She sees the stuff
under the bed.
3. I guess Mum is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between mums & dads?
1. Mums work at work and work at home as well. Dads just go to work at
work.
2. Mums know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller & stronger, but mums are the boss because that's who you
have to ask if you want to sleep at your friend's place.
4. Mums have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.

What does your mum do in her spare time?
1. Mothers don't have spare time.
2. She says she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mum perfect?
1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of
plastic surgery.
2. Not to be so fussy about cleaning your teeth and being clean.

If you could change one thing about your Mum, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of
that.
2. I'd make my Mum smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it
and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of
her head.

Hi
My best wishes to George Clooney, he is Really the MAN of 2005.
I didn’t see Good night, good luck and Syriana yet, but I will before the
ceremony In Shaa Allah.

I’m so excited that the Palestinian “Paradise now” Got nominated,
Didn’t see it either, and I think that I won’t like the theme of it, I mean it
can’t have a nomination unless it approaches “some issues” that the Academy
approves of, thinks, and Politically agrees with. Anyway, I’m proud that the
name “Palestine” is mentioned in such an important event,
Good luck to Palestine.

Salam
Ghadeer

"Now the things you gotta remember are the details. It's the
details that sell your story. Now this particular story takes
place in a mens' room. So you got to know all the details about
the mens' room. You gotta know if they got paper towels or a
blower to dry your hands with. You gotta know if the stalls
ain't got no doors or not, man. You gotta know if they got liquid
soap or that pink granulated powdered sh*t they used to use in
high school, remember? You gotta know if they got hot water or
not - - if it stinks !! If some nasty, low-life, scum-ridden
motherf*cker man, sprayed diarrhea all over one of the bowls.
You got to know every detail there is to know about this commode."

Randy Brooks as "Holdaway" - "Reservoir dogs" - 1992

Hi
I saw the honey pot the other day,.
And I enjoyed it so much, very witty , and smart lines in there .
Not the perfect movie though. There were some over long scenes,
And long dialogues, but in general, it was good .

Spoiler

It was a surprise that Susan Hayward’s Character died so early ,
Makes me wonder why was Hayward picked to do this very short part,!!!

-----All Prophets are Sacred to Muslims , starting with Adam, Ending with
Mohammad, including Mosses and Jesus ,Peace be upon them all, so,
Characterizing them is absolutely rejected and impossible in the Islamic
culture.

-----The prophet Mohammad ,Peace BE Upon Him, is a messenger of love and peace,
Connecting his name to terrorism is pure ignorant and malicious act.
Read The Prophet Mohammad’s biography and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

-----In 2003,The Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten indented to publish Cartoons
about Jesus PBUH, but didn’t because they thought “These cartoons are offensive
to some” !! where was the FREEDOM OF SPEECH then!!!
