You mean, before it breaks down? That's impossible to say.

But a DVD recorder is like a computer, so it should live for as long as a
simple computer will. I would say a reasonable life expectancy should be 5
years at least, with daily usage. 10 years would not surprise me either. My
home computer is 4 years and has no problems with the hardware. But this is
my personal opinion.
