Thanks to Steve Hill and to Tom for your messages. (Even with the 21
Fay Wray movies viewed last year added to the 27 I had already seen,
that still leaves 31 more to see! The search continues.) If I had to
pick a favorite, it would still be "King Kong," which is matchless in
it's ability to excite- after countless viewings it never disapoints-
and no small thanks to Fay Wray. Ms. Wray demonstrates an amazing
spectrum of performances in her body of work. In all of her movies,
even the the lowest in budget and production values, her feminine
grace luminmates the screen. (On a superficial note, can that lady
wear clothes! She can make a terrycloth bathrobe look like the
cutting edge in designer attire.)I am not very fond of romantic
comedy, but Ms. Wray is charmingly humorous in "They Met In a Taxi."
Femme fatales just don't come more evil than the temptress she
portrays in "The Woman I Stole." I was very touched and impressed by
her subtle and skillful enactment of a wounded wife in "Melody for
Three." Fay Wray is a treasure for anyone who loves movies. As for
me, I refuse to check out- not with 31 of her films stll left to
enjoy!
