First of all, for those in California, Fay Wray will be guest of honor
at the San Francisco Silent Film Festival when they show her classic THE
WEDDING MARCH.
The showing is THIS COMING SUNDAY, JULY 9. For more info visit their
website: http://www.silentfilm.org
Second, most of you know I've been working a lot on the Fay Wray Pages,
and I've just done a bit more. Soon I will be changing the way the photo
pages are presented, finally with thumbnail images and an automatic
timestamp for the pages and images.
Finally, thanks to Robert Nelson for the comment on the filmography.
I spent a lot of time on it (even the icons are homemade), and one of
the things that took the most time was searching for sources of her
movies on video. I've ordered a few from "Robert's Hard to Find Videos"
and anxiously await their delivery. I've also discovered that THE UNHOLY
GARDEN is/was available on video in the UK; I've ordered a copy but the
supplier may not be able to get it. (I'm fortunate to have access to a
standards converter, so PAL-NTSC is not a problem for me.) I'm expecting
to receive "The Fay Wray Collection" DVD on Wednesday, but I don't have
very high hopes for its quality. Regardless, I'll be doing image captures
from THE VAMPIRE BAT when I can.
Speaking of which, I've been promising new video captures for a while.
I have a grounding problem somewhere in my system (ever since I changed
residences) that causes light and dark banding on screen captures. I can
fix them manually, but I'm understandably reluctant to do that as it can
take a very long time. That's why I haven't done any (except from DVD)
lately!
