Actually, that was not a poll to see who was the most popular "sweater girl".
Sweatergirl is the just the username of someone who posted a picture of a famous woman from the past, and she asked people to guess who she was. You can see the photo at the following link, along with all of the submitted guesses.

Fay was just one of the many guesses submitted. (Although, personally, I didn't think that the woman in the photo looked anything like our Fay.)
