Re: [FayWray] Re: "Woman in the Shadows ...."

Olá!!!(in Portuguese)
I do hope too!
I think it's really strange, but in Fay Wray Pages is written that she had never adored the way people used to treat her in KK period. She was seen by most of then as a blonde beauty. We all know that's an absurd and I agree with you about the movie: the sound-track was composed by Max Steiner - a sound-track leader(a genius who made wonders like GONE WITH THE WIND!!) and Fay's character was very well constructed.
Best and...
forgive me for any gramatical error, ok?

Hola Daniele!

Surprisingly, I did not think Ms. Wray wrote that much about the  K.K. period other than
what we have read or heard previously.  To me, her memoirs, were in fact, just that, her
memoirs written in a most honest, humble, and straight forward manner.

To me personally, it was Beauty which both "made" and killed the Beast.  The story line was
exciting and imaginative; the music incomparable; the acting was typical 30's rapid
dialogue style but outstanding just the same.

But what made K.K. was the Beauty, Fay Wray.  She seems to have been just that - a Beauty
inside and out and I don't think I am simply awe struck as I never once even thought of
meeting her.  Now I wish I had and pray for her and her family every night.

It is rare indeed for so many persons to still be meditating on a star after the person's
death - even a movie person.

I have a friend who adored thirties B picture star, Edward Norris.  She got to meet him and
became a friend to him.  He was a contemporary of Fay Wray's and he asked for my friend
to please track down some videos for him from his old movies - Boy's Town, etc.  He had
been married to Ann Sheridan and said his Hollywood years were the worse of his entire
life.  He also just passed away I believe last year in his nineties also.

Evidently, he was embittered by his Hollywood years, yet our Lady Fay could never seem to
say anything unkind about anyone or anything.

I do hope you get the opportunity to get this book of Miss Wray translated into Portugese
or Spanish someday.  Until then, hasta la vista companero!

am glad that you can buy or watch the movies on your tv. About ON THE OTHER HAND
too. The great libraries only put on sale biografies of the most popular artists: Marilyn,
Grace Kelly, etc...I would be the happiest person if I could read  someday the memoirs of
Fay...Can you talk more about the book to us? What she said about the King Kong period?
