Dear Steve,
I've just read a Yahoo/Associated Press news item that
says the Empire State Building will indeed dim its
lights today for 15 minutes. The following link should
take you to the story.

Also, the official website for the Empire State
Building posted the following message:
"KING KONG'S BEAUTY DIES. We are saddened by the
passing of Fay Wray, a wonderful actress and dear
friend of the Empire State Building. In her honor, the
lights of the ESB tower will be dimmed on Tuesday,
August 10, 2004 from 9:30PM to 9:45PM."
I think it's very classy and touching for the good
people of New York City and the Empire State Building
to honor Fay and her memory in this way.
It would be impossible to calculate how many lives
have been touched by the lovely Fay. She gave us all
so very much, and for that we should be grateful. As
long as we have her movies, photos, and words, she
will continue to touch us all.
In fond remembrance of Fay,
John Weber
