Hi, Jonathan!
Great to have you with us! Turner Classic Movies is indeed having a
mini-marathon of six Fay Wray films starting at 8:00 PM (EST/New York Time)
on Wednesday, June 25, and running until about 6:00 AM on Thursday, June 26.
They will be showing the following films:
June 25, 2003
08:00 PM King Kong (1933)
10:00 PM Richest Girl in the World, The (1934)
11:30 PM Viva Villa! (1934)
June 26, 2003
01:30 AM One Sunday Afternoon (1933)
03:00 AM Captain Thunder (1931)
04:30 AM Finger Points, The (1931)
Also, starting at 8:00 PM on the evening of June 28 (which is also my 40th
birthday), Turner Classic Movies will be showing four of Ray Harryhausen's
stop-motion animation features, plus a Harryhausen documentary. This will
be followed by another showing of King Kong (June 29 at 4:00 AM), and then
the rare 1917 Willis O'Brien stop-motion animation feature The Ghost of
Slumber Mountain (June 29 at 5:45 AM).
Unfortunately, I don't know anything about your cable comany, or whether it
will be carrying TCM any time soon. Sorry. In the meantime, I suggest you
try to find someone who might be able to tape those rare Fay Wray movies for
you. Good luck, and welcome to the Fay Wray Group!
Best wishes,
John Weber

>Hi everyone! I just joined this group. My name is Jonathan Forte, and I am
>a big fan of classic movies. Though I am only 22, I have been interested in
>old movies for the past ten years. Fay Wray was one of the first actors in
>whom I became interested after seeing King King. I have since seen and
>bought other movies of hers, like Doctor X, The Mystery of the Wax Musuem,
>The Most Dangerous Game, and The Evil Mind. I also would like to buy her
>autobiography online. I have a question, actually. I am from Long Island,
>NY, and unfortunately, my cable company, Cablevision does not carry Turner
>Classic Movies. Supposedly, though, they are gonna make a decision at the
>end of this month as to whether or not they will carry it soon. Do any of
>you know anything about this? Thank you, I am dying to get that channel :)
>Also, for your information, one day this week, I think it's Wednesday night,
>TCM is showing a lot of little-seen Fay Wray movies like One Sunday
>Afternoon and The Richest Girl in the
> World.

>Sincerely,
>Jonathan
