They are reportedly "working on" a restoration. It WILL come eventually,
and yes, probably next year.

King Kong has been released in many countries on DVD - the UK, France,
Germany, Brazil and so on. I've got a UK copy myself, although I want
to get the Brazilian disc too as it's colorized. (No, it's not
blasphemy on my part, it's a collector's mentality.) The Brazilian
discs are region-free ("region 0"). The European discs are region 2 PAL.
The UK disc's picture quality isn't anything to be too excited about.
Not a whole lot better than the Turner laserdisc (which was a little
bit better than the Criterion laserdisc).

I've already done so, but I will again: happy birthday Jose!
One of my birthday presents was a DVD from my brother - a double
feature of Frank Capra's "The Matinee Idol" and a documentary on
Capra, in which Fay Wray makes an appearance. Can't wait to watch
it!
I've got SO much going on right now, but I sincerely hope to be able
to add more content to the Fay Wray Pages this summer. I'd keep my
own fingers crossed but that would slow me down. :)
