Thanks to Angel and the other list members who replied to this thread; your thoughts are
similar to what I've heard from other Fairuza fans.
Although Fairuza has appeared in over 40 films, the film she is most closely identified with
seems to be "The Craft." Sure, if you tell someone "She was Ed Norton's girlfriend in
"American History X" or "She was Adam Sandler's girlfriend in "The Waterboy," they will
often think for a moment and reply, "That was her?" But if you tell someone, "She was
Nancy in "The Craft," the person will often break into a smile and say, "Oh God, I LOVED
her in that movie!" Never mind that "The Craft" came out in 1996; many people I talk to --
especially women between the ages of 18 and 35 -- know her from that film.
So why do you think so many people remember Fairuza from "The Craft"? Was it the role,
her performance, or the film itself?
