Here we bring you an interview with Chris Chaos of Axis Video.
What is Axis Video all about?
Commercial Suicide, yes that is what we are. We appeal to a very few, mainly to those in our network. The masses are too dumb and cannot digest our material. We are composed of dark matter substance and oddball reality . We offend naturally, not on purpose. When someone has "Porno" in their name/title, and we offend them....that is great!!! (inside joke)
We use to specialize in live music videos, but we are slowly changing over to short and feature length films, but more on that in another question.
Contained within our films are small statements or subliminal messages to brainwash our viewers, the smart catch on, the others just don't get it. The film's are psychological trips. We enjoy shocking our viewers with powerful images and sounds.

Who is your target audience?
#1...we film what interests us, so it is just for our enjoyment
#2 Then it is for the client or the subject of what we are filming.
#3 Finally for everyone else that may appreciate it.

No mass appeal, very pigeon holed. Darker subjects, pyschotic scripts and dark humor. Yep, that is what we do. We are very independent and have no one telling us what to do. We broke all the traditional filmmaking techniques and made up our own. Screw the set "rules".

Where is Axis Video heading?
Out of live music videos, that is for sure, unless they are scripted and paid/bartered for! Too much work, not enough pay off. Then if the band or the script sucks, we get blamed. We will continue with the dark documentaries (tattoo's , piercing, sex, fetish, social problems ect) We have a feature film planned.., a psycho/horror film and FEED DESIRE..some sick, disturbing and twisted shit. Also have many short films on deck.
Thinking of doing a BLOODY MARY film and still scripting out our JERSEY DEVIL documentary. Axis is very busy and films something each and every weekend. Oh yeah, the MONSTER MANIA CONVENTION film was completed too. That was fun.
Also we have some very innovative ideas for some films/videos coming up. But we can't release that info yet or it will surely be copied. But many of the ideas have never been done before. So be on the look out.
What does Axis Video bring?
Guerilla filmmaking at its finest. We bring originality to the plate and a new style of filmmaking, which is severely lacking in today's movies. People are like " You can't do that in a film, it just isn't done that way!" We say "that is why we ARE doing it that way!"
THE HISTORY OF AXIS VIDEO
Axis Video was started mid 1996. Axis has had several different name changes and has existed in several different incantations D.O.T.R., Bandenkrieg, Keltic Moon etc.
1996- Chris took film, video production/telecommunication classes and met Keith Kelly there. We put together several shorts and skits for class projects, did a lot of experimenting with filming and learned most of our techniques that way. We didn't really produce anything noteworthy except "SEARCHING FOR BEAUTY" a neo-classic, find that one!! E-bay gold...I don’t even possess a copy any more!
1998- I left New Jersey and did some freelance video work for some organizations and private parties, did weddings and corporate videos.
2000- Chris returns to New Jersey with the intentions of shaking up the film world with his brand of guerilla filmmaking.
2001- Stephanie joins up with the Axis crew. Axis then produced 3 Backyard fighting videos -"REALITY FIGHTING Volume 2 and 3" and "BREAKNECK WRESTLING". But seeing how the laws were coming down on these types of films, we ceased making anymore. 2001 also saw "INTRODUCTION TO THE RUNES" and the "GLOUCESTER CITY CELTIC FEST" done under the Celtic Moon banner. That was back when we vended at Renn Fairs and Celtic Festivals.
2002- saw "BANDENKRIEG" a disturbing compilation film of offensive material, and also "TEMPTATION ISLAND" was released, an amateur 'adult' party tape.
2003- Started on the idea of making a music compilation to produce and that was the birth of DYNASTY OF DARKNESS, a look into the East Coast's musical underground subculture. In that process we met the band www.DeadEmotion.com, partnering up and completing many projects together. Our website was developed and is maintained by Charles of Dead Emotion
Then was the teaming up with Sam Santoro and LEPER-CON Productions for "AMERICA's MOST RETARDED". Keith leaves Axis Video.

2004-. MONSTERMANIA CONVENTION 2003 saw the day of light. Early 2004 Baron Craze joined up as a jack of all trades, but mainly as chief scriptwriter for Axis. “FEED DESIRE” was penned by Baron and will be Axis Video’s 1st feature length film when we get the funding to start shooting. The Heist, The Waiting and The Shower Isn’t So Clear shorts were completed.
Several of Axis’s films were screened around Philadelphia.
The following music videos were completed: Kittie “Brackish” & “No Name” (live), The Dave Brockie Experience “Damn That Money” (live), Dead Emotion “Bytch” & “Nothing to Die For” (scripted) for placement of DYNASTY OF DARKNESS: Apocalyptic End.
2005- The short film TAUNT was filmed. The music video for Bile “In League” (live & scripted) was completed. Axis videos were placed on MyVideo.tv and MSS Vision websites.
Fashion show shoots for WICKED TALENT’s ROMANTIQUE and a fetish shoot for LA FREAK with Akasha Multimedia. June saw the launch of RAID GEAR clothing, Axis filmed the release party and fashion show.
Several of Axis’s fims were screened in NJ, PA, NY and CA. Preparing for the summer Goth Festival GOTHSTOCK.
