SPOILERS!!! LOOK OUT!!!!<br> now that that's out
of the way...<br>>Traitor! How darest thou utter
such blasphemy? <br>>This day of all days, when the
faithful amongst >us are mourning the recent passing of
Twitch!<br>I know, I know... maybe I should have waited, but I
wanted to get opinions while everyone was fresh. Sorry.
:)<br><br>>Seriously though, what disappointed you? I can't >say
that the last episode was my all-time fave, >but it
did have some priceless bits -- carrying >Curtis
out to the truck, the 'little-throat >clearing
sounds', Curtis' return at the end... >In fact, it
seems better and better the more I >think about it.
Maybe it wasn't the big blow-out >finally you were
hoping for, but that gives me >hope that there might
be some more (please, >please..)<br>Couldn't
agree more with your last point!! It certainly does
leave things MORE than open for a third installment. As
if any of us are going to allow that Portugese
family, not that there's anything wrong with the
portugese, to take over Curtis's apartment!! Speaking of
which, I thought "What the hell is that?"<br>"It's
portugese. It's a portugese child." [epidose 12]<br>was the
funniest thing since<br>"When's the last time you went
outside?"<br>"What, you want a date and a time? Should I got get my
day... timer?" [first season]<br>Okay, back to topic.
Yes, the throat-clearing, the drugging, the Touched By
An Angel week on Rex Reilly ("Did you ever think he
may have just been a truck driver who was a
mechanic?"), those were hilarious, as usual.<br>I felt,
though, that as a FINAL episode it let me down a bit.
They're not in any huge dilemma that needs fixing (and
thusly a 3rd season), yet there was no real closure...
it just ended. I mean, maybe that's the point, and
it's a "life goes on" kind of message they're trying
to put across. But for a show that poked so much fun
at predictable TV plots and cliches, I expected the
last episode to reference either the typical
"cliffhanger" or solid-ending type of thing.<br>Maybe I'm not
expressing this very well. To be honest, I'm not sure why
exactly I felt unsatisfied. As the theme from "King of
Kensington" played, the thought in my head was "Oh. Is that
it?" I don't have either the sadness associated with
the definite ENDING of a series, yet I also don't
have any more thirst than usual for a new episode
(which, it should be noted, is a substantial
thirst).<br>I'll tell you what I do have, though, and that's all
13 episodes on tape. So I'll watch episode 13 again
and again until I like it, dammit! :)<br><br>>What
was the best episode in your opinion? <br>Well, I
missed the season 2 opener (nathan in prison), the one
about the cats taking over, and the one where the
crazed ex-convict finds Curtis. Maybe seeing those will
shed some light on the last episode for me, I don't
know. But of the 10 episodes I've seen... I think my
all-time favorite would have to be "I Look Like Joyce
DeWitt", episode 4. Was that the title? Whatever. The one
where Curtis rents the room to Fred the Punjabi student
and a rock band simultaneously. A close second is
this season's "Shinto Death Cults", where Curtis
purges himself of TV and Hope's father arrives.<br>Wow.
Sorry for the length on this one.<br>b_m<br>ps- but
while I'm on the topic, let me just share two
quotations from those episodes:<br><br>Lawyer [holding out
cellphone to Nathan]: How do you feel about
homosexuals?<br>Nathan [suddenly realizing what song the band has been
playing all week]: Those idiots!<br>Lawyer [into
cellphone]: Yeah, "those idiots". Then he ran out of the
room.<br><br>Hope's father: Where did you read that?<br>Curtis: I
didn't read it, Sir. I saw it on TV. [canned applause]
