Dear loyal disTHIS! fans,
Thank again to all who joined us to celebrate the disTHIS! Film Series first birthday earlier this month on April 4th. It was our biggest turnout ever! It's you who have made disTHIS! such a great success.
I said it before, but it deserves saying again, special thanks to all those who made a donation that night. We've never asked for donations from the list before, but we could not do it without YOUR support. Fans of the series gave the equivalent of two months rent for the disTHIS space or nearly two hours of sign language interpretation! Thank you! Your support means a great deal. And if you like our cutting-edge films and provocative talk-backs, you'll want to be a part of the organization that makes it all happen, the Disabilities Network of New York City. disTHIS! is just one part of our work for equality and opportunity for all.
Keep the movement going! Keep coming to disTHIS every month! Join the Disabilities Network, be sure to renew your membership or make a special donation at:
Remember:
If four people give $25, that covers one month's rent for the film series.
Four $75 donations = Two hours of sign language interpretation for our deaf fans.
$10 month (via online autopay - the easiest way to go!) will keep the disTHIS! website up and running!
You can also pay via check. IMPORTANT: Please make it out to "Fund for the City of New York/DNNYC" - the Fund is our fiscal sponsor. Mail it to the Disabilities Network at 2 Park Avenue, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10016.
Thank you! We've got more exciting programming coming up during year two so stay tuned!
Be sure to join us on Wednesday, May 2nd when we will spotlight local NYC filmmakers for a special series entitled HOME GROWN! Details are up now on the website at:
Don't forget to RSVP and look for the official email announcement coming in the next day or so.
Thanks again, all ... we'll see you next week!
Best,
Lawrence Carter-Long
