FEEL THE LOVE at the Next disTHIS! Film Screening: Wednesday, February 6th!

Movie poster for the film "What's Bugging Seth"
Eli Steele's award-winning WHAT'S BUGGING SETH features a plotline that, at first glance, reads like the set-up of a joke: A driven young deaf man, a bilateral amputee, and a failed model star in a romantic comedy. The jokes don't stop there though. Lucky for audiences, the rest of WHAT'S BUGGING SETH is also funny.

In the film, Seth Singer (played by deaf actor, Ross Thomas) invests his life savings into a pesticide business despite the presence of a well-established competitor that will do anything to see him fail.

Along the way, Seth meets Alma (Amy Purdy, who has been featured in TV's hit series, MY NAME IS EARL), a double amputee, and the two bond over their disabilities. But will Alma and Seth's connection be strong enough to withstand the return of Nora (Nora Kirkpatrick), Seth’s high school love, who comes home after a disappointing modeling career?  Written and directed by Eli Steele (who is hearing impaired himself) many incidents from real life inspired the tone and humor in the film, including the comic sex scene - an audience favorite.

Perfect for a Valentine's Day screening -- bring a date! -- WHAT'S BUGGING SETH is a charming and comic tale that explores both the pleasures and perils of love in honest, funny and direct ways that Hollywood has seldom dared.

Shown with the 2004 Academy award-winning short subject, HARVIE KRUMPET, which tells the cradle to almost grave tale of an ordinary man seemingly cursed with bad luck. >From being born with Tourette's Syndrome to getting struck by lightning – twice! – to testicular cancer to Alzheimer’s Disease, Harvie "bravely triumphs" over one disaster after another. Along the way Harvie falls in love, adopts a Thalidomide baby, fights for animal rights and becomes a geriatric nudist.

Did we mention it's a comedy? A dark comedy, for sure, but hilarious nonetheless. HARVIE KRUMPET is an animated gem which explores triumph over adversity while subverting all tiresome stereotypes and attempts at knee-jerk classification.
