DANNY AND SYLVIA AT FORUM THEATRE, NEW JERSEY
Danny Kaye & Sylvia, (formerly entitled Danny & Sylvia) following its sold-out
run in Washington, D.C., opens at The Forum Theatre, Metuchen, NJ. Five
performances are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, December 14 and 15 at
2pm; Friday and Saturday, December 16 and 17 at 8pm; and Sunday, December 18 at
3pm.

Based on the life of Danny Kaye and his talented partner, songwriter and wife,
Sylvia Fine, the story was written by Robert McElwaine, publicist and confidant
to Danny Kaye for 20 years. "The musical follows the rise of Danny Kaye from an
undisciplined improvisational comic to his success at the London Paladium in
1948, under the guidance of Sylvia Fine, mentor, wife, and manager, as well as
composer of his most famous songs. It explores both the romance and conflict
that made them such a volatile and successful couple. Many of Danny's hit songs
including 'Tchaikovsky,' 'Minnie the Moocher' and 'Deena' are featured.
Additional music was written by Bob Bain," according to press notes.

Brian Childers, Helen Hayes Award-Winner for his portrayal of Danny Kaye, will
reprise the role. Julie Garnyé will perform the role of Sylvia Fine. Garnyé
recently toured in the national production of Cats in the lead role of
Grizabella.

Shari Upbin is director and choreographer, and the show's musical director is
Barry Levitt. The producer of Danny Kaye & Sylvia is Hy Juter, Jupiter Theatre
Company, in Association with Sandi Durell, ShaRell Productions, producer of
