Hey Guys,
I know it has been a loooooooong time since I've last written.  First, please don't mistake my absence for my lack of caring or not appreciating all of the stuff you send my way.  I must admit that I really look forward each day to the little notes from you guys in my inbox.  It's so great to hear of all the things you all are up to, whether it's a birthday party, a lost tooth, or just a note to say hello.  I could try and think long and hard about why I'm so terrible at writing back, but I'm not sure either of us have that much time.  What I can tell you all is that I will make a sincere effort to be better.  I figure a great place to start would be right here, in a little note/blog saying hello, thank you, and to fill you in on what's been going on over here.

First, Hi-5 all converged on Denver for about 30 hours last weekend to do this really cool charity event.  For all you Denverites who are screaming out loud right now, please know that this was a private function for a group of kids with the Starlight Children's Foundation.  The foundations goal is to ease the treatment and recovery process for kids with cancer.  We had the opportunity to perform a show for the kids and their families and then do a meet and greet afterwards.  It was so rewarding for us to help bring smiles to kids faces who have lived a whole lotta life in a short amount of time.  It's just another way that Hi-5 can really help out and all five of us were thrilled to be a part of it.

Last night I had a really cool experience.  If you watch Discovery Channel than you've probably seen the promos for Planet Earth already.  If you haven't, you really should check it out.  A group of filmmakers got together and have spent the last five years going all over the planet with HD cameras capturing some of the most amazing footage ever recorded of animals in the wild.   They put it all together  into an eleven part mini-series airing on the Discovery Channel beginning March 25th I think.  Anyway, because I work with Discovery I was invited to the first screening of the series at the American Museum of Natural History last night.  I met up with Karla and we kept each other company at the event.  Everybody was dressed up and the little snacks they had for us were amazing.  The movie was shown in the room where the giant blue whale is.  It was the first time I'd ever seen it and I was stunned.  It was the largest thing I have ever seen!  Anyway, the chairs were set up right under the whale and there was a giant screen where the movie was shown.  I swear I had to pick my jaw up off the floor many times.  The photography and subject matter was unlike anything I had ever seen before in my life.  We only saw one hour of the eleven hour series and I can't wait for the other ten.  It was also cool to be sitting close to such influential people as well.  Two rows behind us was Martha Stewart, and about five chairs down the row from us was the U.N. Secretary General.  It really was a night to remember.

Other than that I'm just keeping busy with wedding plans.  Jenn and I are getting married on June 30th and we still have a few things to take care.  Luckily for me, Jenn is a great planner so most of the work has already been done.  I think both of us are hoping that we're not running around like chickens with their heads cut off the week before the wedding.  On top of that, we're moving at the end of the month so I'll be busy packing all our stuff into boxes while she's swinging around the jungle in Tarzan.  It's a year of many changes and I'm really looking forward to it.

On the Hi-5 front things seem to be picking up.  At this point it looks like we'll be in Canada for the first three weeks of June.  I don't have any specific dates or cities yet, but keep your eyes peeled.  Beginning July 16th we're going back out on the road with the full length show and will travel all over the US for roughly eight weeks.  Again, I don't have more details but I'll keep you all posted.

I hope you guys are doing well and are looking forward to spring as much as I am.  Take care and keep those notes coming, I LOVE THEM!!!

Your Friend,
Curtis : )
