I continue to receive numerous emails showing interest in a Count
Gregore DVD.
I want one too, but it takes time and money. If we are going to
produce one, it has to be right and an honor for the man who made it
so. So, just to keep his fans in the loop, we are still in the
funding stages and as always BEGGING, HOPING, and SEEKING any photos,
videos, etc that fans may have of the count in an attempt to put
together the best archive we can muster and the most compiled fun ever
found on a DVD. So, if you want to help:
Send copies of all your fun images, video or Count memorabilia to:

We just finished the Trick Con Treat this last weekend, the Count was there for most of the day signing autographs and such. He and I did a panel on horror shows and had quite a turn out by its end, I think the largest of the panels that day.
As far any other appearances, he told me he is doing one this weekend at his own job as the Count for their Halloween party, but I do not know about any others planned. Once I know, I will inform you!

Hello,
Does anyone know of any public appearances that the Count may be making this month?
As far as I knew, he hadn't made any since October 2005 when he did the Scare on the Square in Enid, a paranormalist convention in OKC, and the Real to Reel event that year. But then I just found out he was at Trick Con Treat a month ago, something I hadn't heard of until after it had already occurred.
Is there any sort of newsletter for "upcoming events" on the Count's appearances?

As Bradley recently posted, a project is in the works to produce the
existing shows of the Count onto DVDs, but it is costly. To see some
current footage of the Count online, from my own show, go to:
www.youtube.com/Awenek
So long as the Count is on my own show I will post these videos for
all to see! I am airing this weekend, but only in Enid and on Pegasys,
my fifth anniversary show which is two solid hours of the Count's
involvement with the Mysterious Lab of Dr.Fear! Everything from edited
skits (there are about 11), to an hour of him signing autographs and
telling stories from his past shows and behind the screams stuff!
Eventually I will try to place the majority of this online, but for
now I have last April's historic shoot with the Count in OKC.
Good things are happening!

What's an address we can send tapes to. I have some tapes I videotaped when he did something on channel 43, has Frankenstein and some of those movies. These don't have any new skits on them but have a lot of stuff that has montages and clips. If you think these would be useful, let me know and I will be glad to send them along.
OK - Sorry folks, been awhile.
Had lunch with the Count recently and we talked more about the DVD
future. Right now, its all about funding. We want to create a
really spectacular collection featuring past and present work along
with a Biography documentary sharing through John Ferguson's history
the story of early radio and Televsion in Oklahoma and abroad. We
want it entitled: Fangs for the Memories
We are needing to raise apprxc. $150,000 to pull it off. So, I'm
beginning dialogue with OETA and see where it can lead.
On another note, I have had a generous volunteer from a recording
studio ask to take on the sound remix of all the old footage we
currently have. BUT WE NEED MORE FOOTAGE.
Search every drawer, box, and more and send me those Count Gregore
tapes!
Thanks for your patience. I can be reached directly at

Mine was "Murder at 33 1/3 rpm" in 1967 or 68; I think. I was so scared at 7-8 and had snuck up to see the TV in Ada;reception was horrible, that I only watched maybe 5 minutes before running back to bed.

Once the matters of rights with the respective channels, etc are cleared up, I think the plan is to put them out on DVDs. Gregore and I just filmed a new show, a full episode combining his classic with our show's own character and it is great stuff! I will be airing it locally in a few weeks' time. We are compiling as much Gregore footage as we can get access to, so if you have some, we would love to digitize it and archive it for posterity.
I still have the VHS tapes from when he did the retrospective on 43 here a few years ago. They aren't actually the full commercial breaks but he did have quite a few bloopers, clips, and other stuff from Sleepwalker's Matinee and other incantations from the various shows he had. Plus, the movies include the original Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, and other movies of that sort. I work in NW. OKC around NW Expressway and 63rd street, so if anyone wants to meet me in the general area sometime and I pass off the tapes to be put on DVD, I'd be happy to do so.

Subject: [countgregore] DVD progress?
Last October several members such as ghoul68200 and laughin43 reported
in this thread
that they have VHS tapes of Count Gregore to be transferred to DVD.
Bradley Wynn mentioned that Dr. Fear has been transferring them all as
they become available. My hope is that all VHS tapes that are
currently accounted for can be made available on one DVD archive set
all at once.
Is there any word on the progress? Are all known VHS tapes accounted
for at this point? If any help is needed to transfer them, I am available.
Thanks,

COUNT GREGORE TO HAUNT OKLAHOMA CITY'S FILM ROW
On March 31st, Oklahoma City's favorite ghoul, John "Count Gregore"
Ferguson, will appear before cameras along downtown's historic Film
Row in the television series, Mysterious Lab of Dr. Fear.
Brian Young, host of the Enid based horror show will direct
the Count through new opening sequences and skits for their 2007
season. Shooting will take place by Noon in the former Oklahoma
Theatre Supply building, generously donated for series use by owner
and businessman, Chip Fudge, who also spearheads current downtown
Film Exchange District efforts.
John Ferguson, a familiar Oklahoma actor, has appeared in the
iconic role of horror host Count Gregore on local stations and public
events for 50 years and is considered the longest running horror host
in the world. In addition to work in the Mysterious Lab of Dr. Fear
series, Ferguson works toward his autobiography, Fangs for the
Memories, detailing, through his career, the story of early
television in Oklahoma. His efforts currently seek funding for the
project.
The Mysterious Lab of Dr. Fear airs on Enid's public access
channel eleven, operated by Pegasys every Saturday night with fearful
antics and scary movie broadcasts. It further draws record numbers
of listeners and fans every Sunday night with its horror themed hi-
def radio show. The Lab has entered into its fourth year of episodes
and hopes to reach new fans across the globe with upcoming internet
pod casts.
For more information about the series visit
www.themysteriouslabofdrfear.com. To reach John Ferguson, visit

This message is about Human beings, Democracy, UNHCR, Refugees, The Iraqis, Islam, Kurds, Human rights, Respect, Money, Donations, Angelina Jolie, Pavarotti, Giorgio Armani, Donors, Peace, History, Campaigns and about you if you care about these words.
Hi there,
I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the last 10 years of my life as a refugee registered with the UNHCR in Beirut. The last 4 years, I have spent as an activist for peace and human rights (especially refugees and asylum seekers) on the Internet; I'm also books author and ebooks publisher. I have launched many campaigns to improve our situation as refugees in Lebanon and hopefully bring more understanding to our problems worldwide. I helped make many changes and improvements at the UNHCR office in Beirut; I used the Internet as the field for my activities (you can read more about that in my free ebook 'MY CAMPAIGNS'). All my ebooks are free and could be download from my sites.
This is my newest campaign, it's about the illegal and humiliating actions of the UNHCR, who using photos of refugees as banners and human-buttons to collect money. This is an abuse of the dignity and humanity of the refugees and must stop immediately and a clear public apology present by The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. My friends, I am talking about the pictures you can see here: http://h1.ripway.com/saad6/human-buttons.htm
Where you can read the rest of this message as web page.
For more info about UNHCR and life of refugees you can read my free ebooks. I invite you as fellow humans and members of the world community to support my campaign by reading my article on my site and see the human-buttons. The campaign is to support and improve the UNHCR http://www.unhcr.ch especially after the last scandals in the UN and UNHCR, just for example:

Talked to John aka 'Count Gregore' today and he shared the above
website address with me. He has a friend putting it together for
him. If you click on the name COUNT GREGORE at the top - you can
purchase a GREAT looking t-shirt and a VERY rare 45 LP of the theme
music from his show (Which incidentally plays upon visiting his
website)! Also, John appears - once again - in this weeks Oklahoma
Gazette as one of the many horror realted personalities in Oklahoma.
I'll try to get an image up soon, but for those around the Oklahoma
City metro area - the Gazette is available free almost everywhere.

I live an hour away in Stillwater, but am in OKC all the time. Let
me know if you want me to transfer them to DVD sometime. I hope it
gets to the point soon where everyone's pooled DVD copies can be
presented as a set for the price of materials and shipping. I'm
especially looking forward to seeing the episodes that featured the
classic Universal Monsters.

You want to direct this thought to Dr. Fear, who has graciously been
transferring the tapes for us. He's listed in the members area. I'd
love to get a copy to, if he burns one, if that's ok?

We've just transferred a lot of Count Gregore to DVD from VHS and are seeking more. We are looking at compiling a DVD collection soon and will make it available to those fans seeking to add a little memory to their collections. Stay tuned!

If anyone can convert a VHS to DVD for me, you can send me your mailing
address to me and I'll send the tape and a blank DVD along with a pre-
paid envelope for the return. The VHS tape I have has the original
Frankenstein, original Wolfman, Bride of Frankenstein, and Creature
from the Black Lagoon movies on it along with the bits Count Gregore
did during the commercial breaks. Thanks!
